The Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) is a non-profit certification organization for companies involved in the welding of structural steel. Established in 1947, the CWB was originally formed to oversee implementation of the then, new W47.1 welding standard for structural steel. Today, as an accredited Certification Body of the Standards Council of Canada, the CWB has expanded its services to cover all aspects of the welding industry. The CWB is responsible for the administration of CSA Standards including W47.1, W47.2, W55.3, W186, and W178.1 and is recognized across Canada and internationally for the:

- Certification of companies involved in welding
- Certification of Welding Inspection Companies
- Certification of Welding Inspectors
- Certification of Welding Electrodes

The CWB qualifies welders, welding procedures and also offers comprehensive training courses and educational products through the CWB Learning Centre. The services provided by the CWB work to maintain the highest level of competence for industries employing welding and joining as well as promote continued advancement in welding technology.

CWB certification holds many advantages for companies involved in the welding of structural steel. For Cogan, CWB certification is our quality control guarantee. Access to CWB training courses, educational materials and technical information ensures our customers that Cogan products are manufactured using only the highest levels of weld quality and workmanship. CWB certified members are committed to excellence in the welding industry and strive to increase the reliability of welded products through the safe and responsible application of welding and joining practices.
